Reporting & Options
Reports
The Reports section located below the "Scan for
Viruses" bar is a very useful tool to use. In here you can
view what Norton has set aside to be quarantined during a virus
scan, and from there you'll be able to delete everything that you
don't want.
Take a look below at the shots and further
descriptions to fully comprehend the
purpose of all three reporting applications.
Notice that the scan found 3 bugs in my system.

The Online Virus Encyclopedia is a comprehensive
source that Norton offers its users to browse through. It lists certain viruses,
their severity, when they were detected on the web, when Norton implemented
protection against them, and a plethora of other selections to browse through.

When I said comprehensive, I meant it. Moving on to the
Activity Log feature, this is where all of your Norton usage information is
stored. It'll show you when was the last time you scanned and what was the
result of the scan. Additionally, it'll log the viruses or bugs that were
detected, and offer you information about the.

Options
The options will allow you to customize Norton to your liking.
Would you like for it to scan incoming and outgoing emails? Or
just one of two? And what do you want Norton to do? Do you want
it to automatically fix the issue, or would you like to manually
delete the infection? Do you want all potential email worms
blocked automatically? Of course, you do! But what about instant
messaging? Well, Norton monitors that too. Norton will also scan
any items you download via IM programs such as MSN, AOL/AIM, ICQ,
and Yahoo!. But specifically how ferocious do you want Norton to
be with your PC? Do you want it be as thorough as possible and
weed out every little bug, but increase the length of scanning?
Would you like it to be moderate, and keep the scanning process
to a standard time. Or would you like it to be quick (which
decreases level of protection) and scan quickly? My personal
suggestion is to really never use the lower level, and stick to
the moderate scan for everyday use. But occasionally, you will
want to scan thoroughly when you know you won't be around the PC
for a while.
